Carlos Alcaraz’s coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, was taken aback by Novak Djokovic’s showing in the Wimbledon 2024 final, feeling that the Serbian player was “outclassed” for the entire match. Djokovic fell to Alcaraz with scores of 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4), marking the second instance of his straight-set loss in a Wimbledon final.

At the post-match press conference, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Alcaraz’s coach, was questioned about the impressive win over the seven-time Wimbledon champion. Ferrero, 44, started by highlighting the significance of continual improvement and the necessity of entering every tournament with a winning mentality.
“Growth has to be there, we have to keep going. I think that now, at 21, you can’t stop growing. You have to keep growing and move forward, have that enthusiasm and motivation to go to each tournament to win,” Ferrero said ( via Punto de Break).
The 2003 French Open champion further conveyed his astonishment at Djokovic’s performance, pointing out that the Serb struggled to maintain his usual standard during the match. Ferrero remarked that although Djokovic had played more strongly the previous year, he seemed to be off his game this time around.
“I was a little surprised by Djokovic’s level today. I think he felt outclassed from the start. It was hard for him to keep up with Carlos’ pace and ball speed. It’s true that last year he was better, maybe this year, not being at 100%, it was a little harder for him,” ( he added.)

Novak Djokovic later admitted in the post-match press conference that Carlos Alcaraz had “outplayed” him in their final clash which resulted him straight sets loss. The 24-time Grand Slam champion also commended Alcaraz’s impressive serving skills.
“I’ve never seen him serve that way. 136mph. I’ve never seen him serve that fast. He must’ve had a really good serving practice day yesterday. He really outplayed me, He was better than me in every aspect of the game,” Djokovic said.
By triumphing over Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon, Alcaraz became the youngest player to win both the French Open and Wimbledon Championships in the same calendar year as he is just 21 years old .
Meanwhile, Djokovic, who had an outstanding season last year is not able to clinch a title in 2024 and he will have to wait longer for his first title in the 2024 season probably. The Serb currently boasts 23 wins out of 30 matches so far but still he is titleless in 2024.
Novak withdrew at French Open 2024 due to his knee injury which was his Big loss on clay grandslam which resulted his opponent to reach in the semi finals. Carlos Alcaraz played finals against Alexander Zverev which was also an easy victory for him
