Novak Djokovic unfollows controversial influencer Andrew Tate after massive uproar

Novak Djokovic has unfollowed Andrew Tate, a contentious figure known for his self-proclaimed misogynistic views, following significant backlash from the tennis community. Currently in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, Djokovic is aiming for his first gold medal.

The World No. 2, Novak Djokovic, found himself in the midst of a controversy when a user on X highlighted that he followed Andrew Tate, the American-British influencer known for his controversial views on women and their roles in society.

Tate, who gained notoriety for these opinions, has also faced multiple criminal allegations, including sexual aggression, human trafficking, and rape, leading to his arrest in 2022. The issue gained further attention when prominent journalist Ben Rothenberg commented on Djokovic following Tate.

“Novak Djokovic, GOAT of tennis and GOAT of unforced errors,” Ben Rothenberg wrote on X.

Many fans criticized the 24-time Grand Slam champion, noting that both he and Tate had previously shared similar views on vaccines, though Tate later altered his stance. Following the intense backlash on social media, Djokovic has since unfollowed the controversial influencer.
