Two-time Olympic gold medalist Rafael Nadal was defeated in the singles second round by Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympics. However, his journey at the Games is not over, as he is still competing in the doubles event.
The 38-year-old will team up with Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s doubles. The Spaniards won their opening-round match against Andres Molteni and Maximo Rodriguez 7-6, 6-4. They are scheduled to face Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof on Tuesday, July 30, at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
After the Olympics, Rafael Nadal’s future remains uncertain. While he is listed as an entrant for the US Open, where he is a four-time champion, he has not yet confirmed his participation.
Nadal has, however, confirmed his presence at the Laver Cup, which will be held in Berlin this year. He last competed in the event in 2022, where he teamed up with his great rival Roger Federer in the Swiss Maestro’s final career match.
