Novak Djokovic celebrated his second-round victory over Rafael Nadal at the Paris Olympics by mimicking playing a violin with his racket, a gesture dedicated to his daughter, Tara. The match at the 2024 Summer Games was the 60th encounter between Nadal and Djokovic.
Djokovic dominated the match from the outset, winning the first set 6-1. The second set began similarly, with Nadal struggling and trailing 4-0. However, the 22-time Grand Slam champion mounted a comeback, winning four consecutive games.
Despite this effort, Djokovic won the set 6-4, clinching the match. With this latest victory, the Serb now holds a 31-29 head-to-head advantage over Nadal.
Following his impressive victory, the 37-year-old entertained fans with a violin celebration, similar to the one he performed at Wimbledon 2024. Djokovic had previously shared that this gesture was a tribute to his five-year-old daughter, Tara, who is learning to play the violin.
